350,000 guineas for a son of YOUMZAIN

Kerri Radcliffe went to 350,000 guineas to secure the lot 102, a colt named Deja by the Quesnay stallion Youmzain at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up on April 19th, 2017. He was consigned by Tally-Ho Stud. He is the first foal of the Anabaa mare Atarfe. Kerri Radcliffe commented: "He's for Luxembourg-based Phoenix Thoroughbreds and will be trained by Jeremy Noseda." And she added "This horse is lovely well-balanced horse, a cracking two-year-old and hopefully one for the Chesham!" That was a reference to Suits You - another son of Youmzain - who won the Listed Chesham Stakes in 2015 for trainer Eoghan O'Neill before being exported to Hong-Kong.
Deja have been purchased as a foal for €62,000 by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock at the 2015 Arqana Breeding Stock Sale.

Youmzain is an exceptional racehorse. He won the Gr.1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and the Gr.1 Preis von Europa and was three times second in the Gr.1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. He also is successful as stallion as he is the sire of a Gr.1 winner in his first crop.
