Kentucky Dynamite was rated below only Stormy River and Manduro of all the French milers in 2006, winning the Group 3 Prix Paul de Moussac before being caught in the final strides when a half length second to Stormy River in the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat. By Mr Prospector’s leading son Kingmambo, the strapping chesnut is out of Chelsey Flower. Successful in the Grade 3 Miss Grillo Stakes on grass as a juvenile, Chelsey Flower trained on to win two of Belmont Park’s premier turf events for fillies, the Grade 1 Flower Bowl Invitational Handicap and the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay Handicap.
Kentucky Dynamite features a coupling of Chelsey Flower’s sire HIS MAJESTY and his brilliant full-brother GRAUSTARK. By Ribot out of the top-class racemare Flower Bowl, His Majesty and Graustark are also coupled in the Grade and Group 1 winners Camarilla, Dane Julia, Danni Martine, Forty Fabuloso, Hollywood Story, Mozart, Rumplestiltskin and Sir Beaufort and the German Classic ace Royal Dragon.
Out of an His Majesty mare, DANEHILL is the sire of MOZART, Rumplestiltskin and ROYAL DRAGON and the grandsire of Camarilla, Dane Julia and Danni Martine. Rumplestiltskin is out of a full-sister to Kingmambo, while the dams of Danehill’s Classic heroes FLYING SPUR and DESERT KING are in turn a close genetic relative to Kingmambo and a daughter of Kingmambo’s damsire Nureyev. Danehill’s second generation features a coupling of Nureyev’s sire Northern Dancer and his half-sister Spring Adieu, while his dam is closely related to the grandam of Mr Prospector’s Champion Juvenile MACHIAVELLIAN. Danehill is also a full-brother to EAGLE EYED. FORESTRY’s dam is by His Majesty’s son PLEASANT COLONY, while his third dam is a three parts-sister to the dam of Mr Prospector.
A daughter of Flower Bowl’s three parts-sister Your Hostess, Gay Hostess produced the brilliant duo CROWNED PRINCE and MAJESTIC PRINCE to Kingmambo’s grandsire Raise A Native and is the grandam of Graustark’s Prix du Jockey Club sensation CARACOLERO and the third dam of REAL QUIET and SECRETO. In turn, Majestic Prince sired MAJESTIC LIGHT from a Ribot mare. A classy three parts-brother to Flower Bowl, Your Host is prominent in GOLDEN ACT. Flower Bowl’s daughter, the dual U.S. Champion Bowl Of Flowers is the dam of Whiskey Road, who is coupled with Danehill in the Australian Group 1 heroines Anamato and Rena’s Lady and whose son STRAWBERRY ROAD sired the Grade 1 Hollywood Turf Cup victor Royal Chariot from a granddaughter of Graustark. The sire of SWAIN’s damsire KEY TO THE MINT, Graustark is the damsire of HERO’S HONOR and SUNSHINE FOREVER and the sire of SCRIPT OHIO’s grandam.
Out of Nureyev’s magical daughter Miesque, Kingmambo has sired the European Classic winners Divine Proportions and Virginia Waters and the Japanese Horse Of The Year El Condor Pasa from mares by Nureyev’s three parts-brother SADLER’S WELLS, while the French Champion Sprinter Whipper is by Kingmambo’s full-brother MIESQUE’S SON out of a Sadler’s Wells mare. The dam of Sadler’s Wells’ 2,000 Guineas hero ENTREPRENEUR is by Exclusive Native out of a granddaughter of Ribot, sons of whom sired Chelsey Flower and her dam Chelsey Dancer, while another of Sadler’s Wells’ 2,000 Guineas aces, KING OF KINGS is out of a granddaughter of Crowned Prince.
Sadler’s Wells’ full-brother FAIRY KING is coupled with Nureyev in the Australian Group 1 victrix Aperçu, which also bodes well for Sadler’s Wells’ full-brother TATE GALLERY and three parts-brother PERUGINO. The Champion Miler THATCH is a full-brother to Nureyev’s dam and appears with him in the Group 1 aces Peeress, Sarabande and Shibuni’s Falcon. By Mr Prospector out of a classy three parts-sister to Nureyev and Sadler’s Wells, NUMEROUS is a genetic three parts-brother to Kingmambo and has sired the Canadian Champion Numerous Times from a granddaughter of Nureyev. By a son of Nureyev, FRAAM is out of a Majestic Prince three parts-sister to Exclusive Native. Indeed, Exclusive Native is also a three parts-brother to the dam of GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
